The redevelopment of The New East Side will produce a wide range of business opportunities for companies owned by minorities and women who will be involved in a nationally renowned development that is anticipated to take 10 years to be completed.
Under the direction of the master developer, Forest City-New East Baltimore Partnership, LLC. (FC-NEBP), companies owned by minorities and women are actively participating in every phase of the development. Forest City-New East Baltimore Partnership's commitment to provide those opportunities for women and minorities to participate at every level of the development is a key component of the redevelopment of East Baltimore.
Mission
To promote and increase procurement opportunities for minority- and women-owned businesses by proactively seeking the best qualified companies that demonstrate quality, service, delivery, and competitive pricing.
Who qualifies for the minority inclusion program?
- Minority Business Enterprise or "MBE" is a business that is owned, operated, and controlled by one or more minority group members who have at least 51% ownership, and is certified by the State of Maryland or City of Baltimore
- Women's Business Enterprise or "WBE" is a business owned, operated and controlled by one or more women who have 51% ownership, and is certified by the State of Maryland or City of Baltimore
- Local Business Enterprise or "LBE" is a locally-owned business enterprise, i.e. businesses within the project area and/or businesses which count as employees a substantial number of local residents.
